One year ago I spent a few days at Halim, the 'cit One year ago I spent a few days at Halim, the 'city airport' of Jakarta, Indonesia, and an active Air Force base. Unfortunately my hopes to catch some fighter jets did not materialize, and this year with the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence would have been a better bet... But still I was very happy about this Indonesian AF / TNIAU C295, and spent the days in great company of some fellow aviation photographers from Jakarta :) And getting a guided tour around the area brought some more nicely preserved warbirds in front of my lens. Don't throw away your old shots - technology might Don't throw away your old shots - technology might save them in a few years! Just like that one... Canopy reflections (see 2nd photo) spoiled the original photo, but I liked the motive and angle, therefore I kept it on my hard drive. After the recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia After the recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian Long Range Aviation airbases, I had to dig out the photos from a unique visit to Engels in 2012. They are included in the most recent report on my website (⬆ link see above in Bio❗). Already back then Russian Tu-160 Blackjets and Tu-95 Bears were rather elusive, and this access to Engels really exclusive. Together with a small group of fellow enthusiasts we had a great day and good access at Engels.
